Early Life and Foundation (The Techno Roots)

ANNA’s career began in her home country of Brazil, showcasing a dedication that started early:

• Formative Years: She began DJing at the age of 14 at Six, the nightclub her father, Ubirajara Miranda, owned in Amparo, a town near São Paulo. This intensive residency gave her an innate understanding of the dancefloor
• Early Focus: Though she initially played local Brazilian music, she quickly found her identity in electronic music, dedicating up to ten hours a day to practice and research, first exploring drum ‘n’ bass and progressive house before fully committing to techno
• Move to Europe: She moved to Barcelona in 2015 to be closer to the European electronic music circuit, a move that quickly propelled her into the international spotlight. She is now based in Lisbon.

A significant turning point in ANNA’s career came in October 2017 after a period at a neurofeedback center in Germany. This experience initiated a self-realization journey that profoundly altered her creative outlook.

• Ambient Debut: This philosophical shift led to her debut ambient album, ‘Intentions’ (released via Mercury KX / Decca). The project trades club-driven production for sounds focused on sound healing and meditation
• Ambient Collaborators: The album features collaborations with spiritual ambient guru Laraaji and contemporary ambient artist East Forest, alongside Jon Hopkins
• Unified Vision: ANNA’s current work is driven by a desire to unify her musical worlds, bringing a more “open and spiritual side” to her techno. As she states: “I am everything. I am the stillness, the chaos, the light. I’m combining these worlds. I am bringing this more open and spiritual side to my techno side, so that everything becomes one”
